This beautiful antique Moroccan Koummya is made of silver, horn and Sheffield steel. The blade was made in London and sold to the Moroccan trade in the mid 19th century. The silver sheath and horn and silver pommel were made in Southern Morocco. A blend of intricate craftsmanship and fine steel make this a beautiful example. The sheath is fit to the blade with absolute perfection. The silver work is highly refined. Berber men wore koummya on the left side hanging from a baldric on the right shoulder. Length 16" (40.6 cm)
